OnlyFans Beats Apple, Google, Netflix, Other Big Tech Companies in Revenue Per Employee: Here’s the Lowdown

Content sharing platform OnlyFans has won over big tech companies like Apple Inc., Google from Alphabet Inc., Netflix Inc.and others in terms of income per employee.

What happened: OnlyFans reported revenue of $1.3 billion for fiscal 2023.

Although the company’s revenue is only a fraction of that of large tech companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft, its revenue per employee is many times higher than these tech giants, as Trung Phan points out.

On average, each OnlyFans employee contributed nearly $31 million to the company’s revenue, while Microsoft’s average revenue per employee was the lowest in the latest period, at just $1.1 million. That’s nearly 28 times lower than OnlyFans’.

For comparison, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet and Meta are four of the five most valuable companies in the world by market capitalization.

Craigslist, a private classifieds platform, remained one of the top companies in terms of revenue per employee. Although revenue has shrunk from its peak of $1 billion in the late 2010s, its revenue per employee remains one of the highest on the list due to its relatively small team.

However, for tech giants, which have thousands of employees on their payroll, the story is completely different.

While their revenue is also many times higher than OnlyFans and Craigslist, the significantly higher number of employees means that the average revenue drops to single digits.
