The Only Way Is Essex star Lauren Goodger – who made her epic comeback on the reality show this year after a nine-year break – is a loving and devoted mother to her daughter Larose, 3, as anyone who follows her social media updates can see. But it can’t be easy for the reality star – not only as a single mum but adjusting to a different way of life as a TV personality who, by her own admission, makes nowhere near the money she once did.
As a result, she revealed in a recent interview that she struggles with her finances and is living what she terms a ‘basic’ life, having once commanded £25,000 for a magazine shoot in her TOWIE heyday. But times have changed. It’s what led to her controversial decision to join adults-only website OnlyFans, which other celebs such as Kerry Katona and former Love Islander Megan Barton-Hanson are also on., though she admitted in a recent interview, “I don’t want to have to do OnlyFans’, but added that she had to rely on it as money in the industry “isn’t what it was”.
She makes a living posting snaps of herself in lingerie for a £38 monthly membership fee. However, as she confessed during the interview, she would rather not have to use the X-rated website. And now, a source tells that Lauren, 38, doesn’t ‘enjoy’ being on the site – but is only doing it to provide a better future for her daughter, who she shares with her ex Charles Drury, who she split from in August 2022.

“Lauren doesn’t want to do OnlyFans and that’s not a secret, but she has to do things she doesn’t want to do because she’s a mum and she’d do anything for her daughter”, they claim. “It’s a sacrifice she has had to make and it’s not something she enjoys.”
Speaking about the height of her reality TV stardom, Lauren confessed: “I probably earned the most, but lost a hell of a lot. And that has humbled me, 100%.”

But life looks a little different for the star these days. Speaking to Paul C Brunson on his new podcast We Need To Talk, Lauren opened up candidly to the Celebs Go Dating expert about many things, including her financial woes. Lauren said: “I’m still carrying on, but how long am I going to carry on for? How do I get through it? Because I have no choice.”
Of course, it’s not just Lauren’s own feelings about the website she earns from that she has to contend with, but as a public figure, she must deal with the opinions of others. “Lauren has also had her fair share of backlash and abuse to contend with over her OnlyFans and she finds it difficult to deal with”, our source claims, though as she has said before, she deals with them stoically, saying, “I don’t actually care. I’ve been through so much more worse.”
And as our source claims: “She also knows that the alternative is not making money and not providing for her child. She thinks people should actually be praising her for making it work and being a providing mother, rather than sending her abuse.” They add: “Lauren’s a single mum and there’s no one supporting her, so at the end of the day, she has to put food on the table for her daughter. That’s the main thing”.
Her struggles, sadly, don’t begin and end with her finances, either. The Essex native, who gave birth to daughter Lorena in 2022, who died very shortly after her birth, less than a week after her former boyfriend Jake McLean died in a car crash in Turkey, is still dealing with the grief.
She later confessed that it was baby Larose that got her through her darkest days, saying: “The reason I got through it all is because of Larose. She has kept me going and without her I probably wouldn’t be here.”
And in a recent interview with OK!, she also opened up bravely on her battle with feelings of isolation and loneliness two years on from the tragedy, confessing that she feels ‘everyone vanished’ following the tragedy, and explaining that her support system appears to have diminished.
“As time’s gone on, after what I went through losing Lorena, people think, ‘Oh, it’s been two years now, she’s alright.’ But it’s actually worse because you become lonelier. I’ve never experienced loneliness like it in my life.” We hope life, in every sense, becomes a little easier for Lauren – she is certainly doing everything she can, despite the haters out there, for her and her adorable little girl.
