With less than two weeks till the US election, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has raked in a new endorsement. This time, it’s from ex-NFL star Le’Veon Bell. The Pittsburgh Steelers alum attended a Trump rally in Pennsylvania recently alongside disgraced former teammate Antonio Brown, and addressed the crowd, urging them to vote for Trump.
Bell later revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that he was “nervous” and “shook” when Trump encouraged him to speak at the rally, adding that the 78-year-old was a “real one” for giving him the platform. The trio then went on to catch a Steelers-Jets game in Pittsburgh together.

Over the weekend, Bell continued his show of support for the Republican nominee by posting a photo of himself on X in a shirt with Trump and Vice-President Kamala Harris on it, beneath the words “Trump or the tramp” The photo immediately went viral, with outraged commenters accusing the former running back of sexism and misogyny.

Le’Veon Bell’s background
Le’Veon Bell was born in 1992 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He attended Michigan State University and was drafted by the NFL in 2013.
Bell spoke about growing up in a rough neighbourhood, during an interview with Brown on CTESPN, and credited his mother for “keeping [him] focused”. He lived with his mother and two younger brothers, for whom he assumed the “father figure” role as his dad was largely absent. Before he got into American football, Bell played tennis and chess, and ran track.
