Child porn sold on OnlyFans leads to arrest of KC cabaret singer in Mexico

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – An individual who moved to Mexico and became a cabaret singer after producing and selling child sexual abuse material in Kansas City has been sentenced to federal prison.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Western Missouri announced on Thursday, Nov. 21, that Wyatt C. Maxwell, also known as Louis Whitaker, 25, formerly of Kansas City, has been sentenced to prison for sales of child pornography online.

Judicial officials indicated that Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison without parole on Wednesday. They were also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and will be required to register as a sex offender upon their release from prison.

Investigators said that Maxwell, a nonbinary transgender individual, pleaded guilty on April 17 to a single count of attempting to produce child pornography. They lived in Kansas City at the time of the crime but soon after moved to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.

The Attorney’s Office said Maxwell took the name Louis Whitaker and became a cabaret singer after they crossed the border. They were arrested in Mexico after an indictment was filed.

Leaders with the Overland Park, Kansas, Police Department said tips were received that Maxwell produced child sexual abuse material with a 16-year-old in their jurisdiction. The material was uploaded to accounts on OnlyFans and JustForFans.

The teenage victim told law enforcement officials that Maxwell had recorded sexually explicit videos of the two of them for several months. Some were created at Maxwell’s home and some in a nearby park.

Investigators noted that Maxwell was interviewed in February 2021 during which they confessed to the crimes. They said they made an estimated $3,000 – $10,000 per month from subscribers.

Law enforcement officials indicated that Maxwell admitted they created about 20 videos where they engaged in some type of sexual activity with the teen. Those videos were uploaded to both accounts.

Investigators said they found nearly 40 videos of child pornography that were downloaded on Maxwell’s cellphone, 96 videos of child pornography that involved the teenage victim and 24 images.

The Attorney’s Office confirmed payments from Maxwell’s OnlyFans totaled nearly $50,000 and payments from JustForFun totaled nearly $3,000. More than 150 videos were uploaded to JustForFans, 16 of which depicted sexual activity that involved the teenager.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Overland Park Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alison D. Dunning. No further information has been released.
