ARMYs Rejoice! The wait is almost over. The globally popular K-pop group BTS is expected to resume activities by the second half of 2025. Comprising seven members: RM (leader), Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, BTS is currently on a hiatus as they are completing their mandatory military service. According to South Korean national law, all able-bodied men aged between 18 and 35 are needed to complete their 18-21 months of mandatory military service.

While they complete their remaining service, their fans have gotten the best news in the longest time.

On Monday, December 23, South Korean media outlets reported that BTS will release their first album after reuniting after their military service, leaving their fans extremely thrilled. The group, which enjoys a fandom that transcends geographical boundaries and language barriers, is scheduled to reunite by June 2025. That’s not all. The septet might also embark on their much-awaited world tour in 2026.

Edaily Korea quoted Lee Hwa Jung, a researcher at NH Investment & Securities, talking about HYBE’s sales in the fourth quarter. During the interview, the person said that BTS’s new album is expected to be released in the second half of next year. The researcher also highlighted that the septet’s activities are not just going to be a treat for their millions of fans but also a significant win for their parent company, HYBE. The agency can expect an immediate spike in its sales, which is expected to increase more once BTS embarks on its highly anticipated world tour.

Speaking of BTS’ military service, Kim Seokjin, aka Jin, and Jung Hoseok, aka J-Hope, have been discharged already. While Jin was released in June, J-Hope was discharged in mid-October.

While the group went on a hiatus after releasing their last album, Proof, in 2022, they did not exactly wait for their new projects. All seven members of BTS have ventured as soloists during their break. In November, Jin released his first-ever solo album, Happy, whereas RM dropped the documentary Right People, Wrong Place based on his second studio album. In April 2023, Suga dropped his debut solo album, D-Day and also embarked on his Suga Agust D Tour before enlisting in the military in September. BTS’ golden maknae Jungkook released his first album, Golden, in November.

On the other hand, in 2024, J-Hope released the album HOPE ON THE STREET Vol.1, and Jimin dropped his second studio album, MUSE. Meanwhile, V has kept his fans captivated with his holiday singles Winter Ahead and White Christmas.
