Singer Kate Nash has taken a unique step to fund her upcoming music tour. The 37-year-old revealed that she joined the adult subscription platform OnlyFans to raise money by selling pictures of her posterior. Calling the move “empowering, fun, and funny,” Nash told critics to “kiss my a– (for a price of course),” according to The Telegraph.
OnlyFans is a paywalled platform where subscribers pay creators a monthly fee ranging from $5 to $50 (Rs 415–Rs 4,150) to access exclusive content. While it hosts creators from all fields, much of the platform’s content is explicit. Subscribers can also pay extra tips for personalised posts.

Nash explained that touring comes with financial stress and that joining OnlyFans allows her to support her band and crew while delivering high-quality shows. “I like flashing my a–, and I know a few people who work on OnlyFans or in the adult film industry,” she said.

Creators on OnlyFans retain 80 per cent of their earnings, while the platform takes a 20 per cent cut. “OnlyFans has always been a platform for creators from all genres, including musicians,” said a spokesperson. “It provides opportunities to grow their presence, engage with fans, and earn revenue independently, away from traditional industry constraints.”
Despite its controversial reputation for adult content, OnlyFans has achieved significant success, earning $1.3 billion (Rs 1,07,900 crore) in revenue for the year ending November 2023—a 20 per cent growth compared to the previous year. CEO Keily Blair highlighted that the platform is not exclusively for explicit material, noting that creators share diverse content, including yoga tutorials, alongside adult offerings.
Tim Stokely, who founded OnlyFans after earlier ventures like the adult site Customs4U, explained the platform’s concept in a 2021 interview. “The idea was to create a platform similar to social media but with a payment button,” he said. Initially popular among sex workers, OnlyFans gained mainstream attention during the pandemic when public figures like Bella Thorne and Cardi B briefly joined the site as strip clubs and other venues shut down.
For many, OnlyFans has become a viable alternative to traditional income streams. A former estate agent now active on the platform shared that its subscribers are often more supportive than the anonymous critics found on other social media. However, success on OnlyFans requires consistent effort. “I spend about two hours daily chatting with fans and also dedicate time to editing content,” she said, emphasising the resilience needed to promote oneself in this way.
Since its inception, OnlyFans has paid creators over $15 billion (Rs 1,24,500 crore), demonstrating its ability to generate substantial income for its users while carving out a profitable niche in the digital space.
