Prosecutors say a man repeatedly struck a woman in the face after she confronted him about recording the two of them having sex to post on his OnlyFans account without her consent in Zion.
Krisson C. Orlik, 20, of Zion, was charged with two counts of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
The Zion Police Department responded on December 21 to Naz Motel, 2403 Sheridan Road, for a call of a domestic battery.
Orlik’s girlfriend reached out to her therapist to notify the police that her boyfriend had just attacked her, according to Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Dino Katris.
Officers arrived at the motel where Orlik and the victim were living together.
They saw the woman had a welt the size of a gumball above her left eye with a cut in the middle of it.
The victim told officers she and Orlik were having sex and a verbal argument ensued, Katris said.
She believed Orlik had recorded them having sex, without her consent, to post to his account on OnlyFans, which is a platform primarily for pornographic content creators.
Katris said Orlik refused to let her use the shower and slammed the bathroom door in her face multiple times.
He then struck the woman five times on the left side of her face, leaving her with the injury officers observed, Katris said.
The victim told police there has been a history of domestic abuse and officers have had numerous previous encounters with the couple.
Katris said Orlik denied battering the victim but admitted to filming their sexual encounter. He said he had consent to film it.
Orlik was previously charged with pushing the woman and spitting in her face while she was pregnant in 2023. The case was ultimately dismissed.
Katris said the investigation into the non-consensual filming is ongoing and police have seized Orlik’s phone and sent a preservation request to OnlyFans.
“This defendant doesn’t want to be in a relationship with her. He wants to have power over her — to dominate her physically, psychologically and sexually,” Katris said during a detention hearing while arguing for him to be detained pending trial.
A public defender for Orlik said the victim and his client were wrestling over the phone during the argument, which is how she was injured.
The attorney said that Orlik has an alternative place to live away from the victim.
Lake County Judge James Newman denied prosecutors’ petition to detain Orlik after the victim testified in court seeking Orlik’s release.
Orlik was ordered to have no violent or harassing contact with the woman and not to reside at her residence. He was also ordered to obtain a mental health evaluation and follow the recommendations.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on January 9 for an arraignment hearing.
