The process in question concerns all users residing in Portugal who have subscribed to pages on OnlyFans and who, for Citizen’s Voice, may be the target of fraud due to the promise that they can exchange messages with those responsible for the page.
OnlyFans is accused of allowing content creators to create dedicated teams to respond to their followers. In addition to this practice of defrauding the promise of first-person conversations, Citizen’s Voice notes that users’ personal data is also at risk since they are chatting with complete strangers.
As CNN Portugal notes, the association now requires that OnlyFans compensate the platform’s subscribers – not only in relation to the price of subscriptions but also for the violation of privacy and protection of personal data.
