A red-faced Scottish club have launched an investigation after a photo of an Only Fans model was shared on their official social media account on Saturday.
The X account of Scottish League Two side Clyde reposted an image of adult star Sophie Rain alongside the caption ‘Me or a PS5‘ before eventually deleting the post.
While the picture was not pornographic, the club described it as ‘unfavourable content’ in a statement and revealed they are already looking into the matter.
‘We’re aware of some unfavourable content that was shared on the club’s X account early this morning,’ Clyde said in a message posted on X.
‘Needless to say, this content does not reflect the views of the club.
‘A full investigation is currently underway into the source of this activity.
‘We strongly condemn the personal abuse that has been aimed at members of the media team this morning, in particular, those without access to the club’s X account.’
One supporter spotted the retweet in the morning and shared a screenshot, writing: ‘Hi @clydefc. Can you address this please? Does not look great on the club at all.’
The account’s action was also noticed by one of their rivals as fellow fourth tier outfit Peterhead posted a screenshot of the embarrassing post.
‘Someone’s admin has clearly run out of their Valentine’s love,’ they joked.
Incredibly, their cheeky dig has been viewed over 1.2million times already.
Making matters worse, Clyde suffered a 2-1 home defeat against East Fife just hours after the retweet. They are eighth in the table and only four points above the bottom.
The basement club will face a nervy relegation play-off to determine their fate.
