Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave has made headlines for reportedly starting an OnlyFans. Cave, 37, who played Lavender Brown in the original Harry Potter movies, recently announced the news on the podcast Before We Break Up Again, which she hosts with her husband, British comedian Alfie Brown.
Cave revealed she started an OnlyFans to cater to kinks around “hair sounds”. She said the OnlyFans page will be “not sexual” but a “fetish one”. “I’m launching a hair OnlyFans. This is entirely for hair-based content. It’s very much geared towards people who have a interest, or fetish, with hair,” she declared.
For those who don’t know, OnlyFans is a website and app where users can subscribe directly to their favourite adult content creators. While it is often associated with pornography, there is a range of content available.
For context, Cave said she had been posting a lot of hair videos to her Instagram for a while now, and she noticed “some comments”. “So, I thought f**k it, I’m going to do something that is very niche—I know it’s niche—but it’s been really cool to do. It’s been quite liberating,” she added.
Cave continued that she’s choosing to think of it as an empowering moment for her, as a departure from her reputation as a “very straight, prim actress”. She admitted her career was at a crossroads, and she’d had a lot of negative experiences in acting and comedy, leading her to take the leap into OnlyFans. “I thought, ‘why not just do something that’s just silly?’” she said. Part of the leap is to change perceptions of her in an industry which perpetually offers her roles as “quirky, weird glasses girl”.
An additional motive she said is to help provide for her family and four children with Brown. “My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof, etc. My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love,” Cave summarised.
She was inspired by Lily Allen, who recently announced she was joining OnlyFans to sell feet pics. However, Cave is determined for now to stick to hair stuff. “One year. I’ll try for one year,” she said.
Jessie Cave has been acting since the 2010s, with dozens of roles in British TV series, such as Father Brown, Trollied and Dani’s Castle. Fans will most likely know her from Harry Potter, in which she played Lavender Brown, the girl who is in love with Ron Weasley.
