In 2018, model Ella Baig was partying with friends when she saw former Olympic athlete Nicola Adams outside a club. At the time, Adams was coming off back-to-back appearances at the Olympic Games, defending her title in Rio after winning gold in 2012 at the Olympic Games in London. But Baig didn’t know who she was.

In an interview about meeting her future partner, Baig said: “I remember being outside the club with my friend, and I’d had a couple of drinks. But someone took a picture of her and I turned around and you know when you’re drunk and you do that loud whisper… I turned to my friend and went, ‘Why is everyone asking for pictures of her, she’s not even that fit?’ She heard me say that but she liked the fact I didn’t know who she was, as rude as I was. We carried on talking for quite a while and it went on from there.”

The couple quickly began spending all their time together, and in 2022 they decided to have a baby. Using fertility treatments to conceive their first and only child, the 42-year-old Adams and 27-year-old Baig welcomed Taylor, their son, after Baig delivered the child via C-section one month premature.

In the years since his birth, Baig has dedicated herself to her new career: OnlyFans content creation. Using the subscription-based platform, Baig created X-rated content and connects with subscribers daily. And that seems to be what led to the demise of their relationship. Opening up about the recent split, Adams revealed: “I have always been incredibly supportive of Ella’s career and the choices she has made, including her work on OnlyFans. However, as much as I respect what she does, I can’t deny that it has had an impact on our relationship.”

While Baig is creating content on OnlyFans, Adams is trying to grow her own career outside of boxing. She retired from the sport in 2019 after winning the WBO flyweight title, and began dabbling in television appearances. She appeared on the show Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 as part of the show’s first same-sex couple. Professional dancer Katya Jones was her partner, though she tested positive for COVID-19 only four weeks into the show and the pair had to drop out.

Adams has some other television appearances ahead for her, while Baig is committed to her OnlyFans career. But no matter what they’re doing professionally, the two will always be committed to co-parenting together. According to a source close to the couple: “They really tried to make it work, especially for the sake of their son, and even went to couples’ therapy, but came to the conclusion that they were better off separating. They still have a lot of love for each other, and great memories, but are focused on being brilliant co-parents.”
