Until the Covid pandemic swept across the world, Erika Amore worked for the wrestling production company WWE in marketing. In that position, Amore learned all about content creation and distribution. She was able to understand the important and best practices for script writing, choosing the best equipment to use for filming, and other secrets of the trade — all things she uses to succeed on OnlyFans these day.
After being laid off in 2020 thanks to the global pandemic, Amore decided to take her talent and start creating content for the subscription-based platform that caters to sex workers and content creators who want to monetize their primarily adult content. And she credits her experience with WWE in helping her became successful so quickly.
“Working at WWE was the best training ground,” Erika said in an interview. “I didn’t just market wrestling. I learned how to build a story, create a character, and make people care.”
One of the things that she suggests helped her get traction and start making money so quickly is that she created a character that fans can connect with, exactly how WWE stars do. Amore explained: “I’m a busty MILF from Texas [on OF] … and that’s not who I am in reality at all!”
She added, “Having a professional background sets me apart. Not everyone comes into this space understanding the full picture — the branding, the storytelling, the structure. I do.”
In reality, she’s actually a content creation powerhouse who dreams of becoming Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson of content creation. Yet while she dreams of reaching the level of stardom of The Rock, it’s fellow WWE star John Cena that she uses as an example for herself in this new OnlyFans career.
Amore explained that during her time with the WWE that she watched John Cena and noted just how professional and kind he was on set — and everywhere really. She calls him a prime example of how stars should be, going out of his way to make everyone in the room feel special and seen. The 16-time world champion has long been a fan favorite and embraces being a character that people can root for, though his character did recently turn heel for the first time in 22 years. (That means he turned into a villain for those who don’t keep up with WWE language.)
It’s Cena’s example that Amore follows now. She strives to conduct herself with that same level of professionalism and kindness as she manages multiple creators for a group video, meets fellow OnlyFans stars at industry events, or just interacts with subscribers. She is grateful to have had the experience she did at the WWE, both professionally in the marketing side of the company and personally with the connections she made there. She credits that experience with giving her an edge that many other OnlyFans models don’t have, and she strives to set an example for them.
