Can lightning strike twice? That’s what OnlyFans founder Tim Stokely is trying to find out.

Stokely recently announced on Instagram that he is launching a new platform to rival his original creation, OnlyFans.

“Today, I’m beyond excited to share the launch of Subs.com, a platform we’ve poured our hearts into building for all creators. Subs is your space to connect, create and turn your passion into a thriving community.

This feels deeply personal to me, because my passion has always been building and creating new ideas. With this project, I’ve been fortunate enough to receive feedback and guidance from countless creators and talent agencies who’ve helped shape our exciting new platform that is finally ready to be shared with the world.

Subs contains some really cool and unique features which provide creators with more discoverability and more ways to earn. Personally, I think I’m most excited about the Shows feature, which provides users with a YouTube-style viewing experience, but with a creator’s paid profile sitting directly behind the video. With just one click, viewers can seamlessly unlock exclusive content, message the creator, or schedule a 1:1 video call. I think this is going to be a game changer.

I can’t wait to see the communities that will be built and the stories that will be told on Subs.

More than anything, I hope you decide to join us on another journey!”

Stokely explained more about the new platform in a recent interview, calling out the Shows feature like he did in the Instagram post, but also mentioning that Subs will include an ‘explore’ feed similar to Instagram so subscribers can more easily find creators. OnlyFans’ biggest drawback is how difficult it can be to find a content creator without a direct link.

“There’s a clear demand for a subscription platform that gives creators everything they need in one place,” Stokely said. “Creators have been telling me what they want, and that’s exactly what we’ve built with Subs. It isn’t just for one type of creator, it’s for all creators.”

Subs will let creators use free content to lead directly to paid content, unlike OnlyFans. Stokely also insists that this new platform will give “creators everything they need in one place.”

“With just one click, viewers can seamlessly unlock exclusive content, message the creator, or schedule a 1:1 video call. I think this is going to be a game changer,” he explained, before mentioning another feature that allows creators to host one-on-one audio and video calls.”

It seems that he’s learning from his experience with OnlyFans, which he founded with his brother in 2016. While he sold his 75% stake in the company in 2018, he stayed on as the company CEO until 2021. Since then he’s launched another social company called Zoop that has not had quite the same success as OnlyFans.

Zoop is a more mainstream and family-friendly platform designed to connect fans with creators worldwide, but never really got traction and it seems that Stokely is ready to move on with Subs.
