As nations worldwide prepare their teams for the Olympic Games in Paris, Cyprus held a special ceremony to present its Olympic team and flag bearers who will have the honor of carrying the Cypriot flag.
Milan Trajkovic and Elena Kulichenko were named flag bearers for Cyprus. Kulichenko, the daughter of a Russian oligarch, holds Cypriot citizenship. However, the issue is not her being the daughter of an oligarch, but rather that she has an OnlyFans page featuring nude videos.
During the team presentation, Mr. Y. Chrysostomou (President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee) stated that they “will raise the flag of our small and occupied homeland high.” Mr. G. Ioannidis (Head of Mission) added: “Our main goal is the dignified representation and promotion of Cyprus.”
An investigation by eReportaz in Cyprus reveals that the Cyprus Olympic Committee is aware of this sensitive issue. According to sources, the athlete was asked to close her account, but she refused.
This situation raises serious ethical concerns about who should carry the Cypriot flag. It also exposes the Cypriot Olympic Committee’s negligence, as they should have thoroughly researched each athlete’s background. When the flag and the team enter the Olympic Stadium in Paris, the athletes will represent not only themselves but an entire nation still suffering from the Turkish occupation.
The Minister of Education, Sport and Youth (MESY), Dr. Athina Michaelidou, ironically stated: “You are the healthy role models and at the same time the ambassadors of the high ideals of sport. You assure us with your struggle and effort that you can act as a shield of protection against modern challenges, so that a healthy society can be supported and established. Your hard work and effort is rewarded with the ticket of participation. We are already proud of you. I wish you every success. We are looking forward to seeing you both at the opening ceremony and in the various sports in which you will be participating in Paris in the coming period,” she said characteristically.
The Minister of Education, Sport and Youth also said that “as a State, we have an obligation to support in every way both the tremendous efforts of our athletes participating in the Olympic Games and the whole range of efforts being made for the further progress and development of Cypriot sport.”
Elena Kulichenko’s Position
Regarding this serious issue, the athlete, through her lawyers, claims that it is not her in the videos but a product of AI (Artificial Intelligence). However, the question remains why, if this is the case, she has not taken action to remove the videos. Furthermore, according to our information, she has not filed a complaint with the Cyprus Police.
