OnlyFans creator Sophie Rain isn’t laughing along with Pete Davidson’s rant about women who “make $40 million a year.” In comments to the New York Post, picked up by news.com.au, Rain said: “I’d tell him that if it’s really that easy, he should go do it.”
The Variety clip
According to IBTimes UK, Davidson made the comments in Variety’s “Ask a Local” segment, released September 30: “Who the f–k are you? What do you do? Nothing… They make $40 million a year.” He named no one. Rain, 22, commented “@me next time” on an Instagram clip and said the rant “sounded pretty targeted.”
“He literally joked about starting an OnlyFans himself, so clearly he understands there’s money in it,” she said, adding that the whole “these girls do nothing” bit is “just lazy.”
“I am the girl”
Rain followed up with a 75-second video. As Geo TV and The Express Tribune reported, she said, “yes, I am the girl who made $40 million in a year for doing nothing,” then explained she worked as a server for three and a half years first and that creators “have to post every single day without fail.” She also jabbed at Davidson’s past relationship with Kim Kardashian.
IBTimes UK noted that neither side’s earnings figures are independently verified.
The takeaway
Rain turned a celebrity’s dig into free promotion, and into a fair point: the money looks effortless only if you never see the posting schedule behind it.
