Danylo Getmantsev, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, said he supports legalizing taxes for Onlyfans and even PornHub, if necessary. He made the remarks during the E-commerce Day conference.
The head of the finance committee emphasized that he is currently working to change the taxation system.
He added that he notices in the news that there are control purchases by law enforcement agencies on services such as Onlyfans. Hetmantsev believes that this area needs to be brought out of the shadows.
Previously, the OnlyFans model anonymously told the publication «Economic Truth» that the National Police of Ukraine is conducting searches of Ukrainian adult content creators, about whom the State Tax Service and the Bureau of Economic Security became aware. According to her, investigators offered to take $100,000 in bribes.
Lesya Mikhalenko, a lawyer for OnlyFans models whose clients have been visited by BEB representatives, said the raids could be just the first wave of accusations against content creators across platforms and genres, and that the spotlight could shift to many self-employed people, from Bolt drivers to Amazon and Etsy sellers to photographers and videographers.
This winter, Danylo Hetmantsev noted that the main obstacle to decriminalizing the creation of pornographic content is a «reform-resistant parliament.»
