Actress Camille Winbush, best known for her role as Vanessa on The Bernie Mac Show, has addressed a rumor that circulated online over the weekend claiming she earned over $900,000 in her first week after joining OnlyFans. The rumor also suggested she joined the platform to support two minor children.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Winbush set the record straight.

“Idk where that lie of a quote originated, but I never said I made $921,000 in my first week on OnlyFans. And I do not have any children,” she wrote, firmly dismissing the claims.
Her post drew a wave of reactions from social media users. One person criticized her, saying, “Might want to remove that ‘soul intact’ part from your bio.” However, others showed support and admiration. One user commented, “Hello Beautiful…. I’m still a fan. Waiting to see your next project.”
Some defended Winbush against the negativity. “That’s all they do is make people look bad who minding their own business smh,” one person wrote. Another expressed optimism, commenting, “Yes!! There’s still hope.” Another user simply added, “Haters will be haters.”
Old Dried-Up Checks
Winbush’s decision to join OnlyFans has been a topic of conversation since she first announced the move in 2021. In June 2024, during an interview with Comedy Hype, she addressed the backlash and explained her motivations for pivoting to the platform.
“People that are outside of the acting world have no place to speak on it,” Winbush said. “When people are saying, ‘Oh, those Bernie Mac checks must have dried up,’ I’m like, ‘From a job 20 years ago when I was a 12-year-old?’ Yeah. Like, duh. [The checks] get smaller and smaller every year. You’re not making the same amount that you were when the show was current, per episode. Twenty years later, those checks are not sustainable for a living.”
She went on to explain her practical reasoning for joining OnlyFans, stating, “If I can find a way to make enough to buy a home from the comfort and safety of my own living room, why wouldn’t I do that?”
