A former Bravo producer is calling out the hypocrisy of the company after being “iced out” of the television industry due to his OnlyFans account.
Patrick McDonald worked on several hit shows for Bravo over the years, including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Potomac, Atlanta, and Orange County, as well as the Summer House spin-off Winter House. He joined the cast and crew at the Emmy Awards when Vanderpump Rules was nominated last year, but now he’s speaking up about the hypocrisy of how Bravo treats cast versus crew.
Despite his success as a producer for the network, McDonald grew tired of the long hours and hard work that came with it. He recently explained that he was “extremely burned-out, overworked and exhausted” and was trying to decide what to do next when he noticed friends who do run OnlyFans accounts were “living a life of freedom,” and making a lot more money than he was as a producer on Bravo.
So McDonald decided to start his own account with his porn star boyfriend Logan Stevens. But after he began creating adult content for their account, he claims that everyone he knew in the reality tv industry went “radio silent.”
He claims that he was ghosted by many of his former employees and that the experience hurt, but that he’s never been happier now that OnlyFans is his primary source of income. He blames the toxic workplace environment of the reality television industry.
“On most of these shows you’re working 12 hour days, six days a week, three to four months at a time,” he said on Instagram.
“Then I’d look at these people in my life who are content creators and they’re working far less than me, making a lot more money than me, doing whatever they want, whenever they want, living a life of freedom,” he continued.
“By contrast, I started to look at how much of my life I was devoting to work and it really made me start to question what I was doing with my life. Honestly, adult entertainment is something I’ve been interested in doing for a long time, but I was too scared to do it because of the fear of what other people might think,” he continued.
“And I’ve been having such a blast making this content for the last few months. I mean, working with the Housewives can be fun at times, but traveling the world to film with some of the most beautiful men on the planet is also a pretty top tier job.”
And he isn’t ashamed of his decision, adding: “Sex work is real legitimate work and it has been since the dawn of time.”
But he is angry at the hypocrisy of Bravo and how they responded to his decision. McDonald wrote about it on Substack, criticizing the network.
“I’m not an idiot. I knew there was a risk. But it’s 2025 – Housewives cast members have fan sites, so why is it different for someone behind the scenes?”
It seems that Bravo does hold crew to a different standard, as many cast members such as Larsa Pippen and Denise Richards run OnlyFans accounts with seemingly no repercussions. But when a producer does it? He loses his job.
