Rapper Iggy Azalea recently confirmed why she ditched OnlyFans, despite once being a top earner.
The musician joined the platform, which has been used by many stars to show off behind-the-scenes pictures or nudes, in 2023.
Since then, her popularity skyrocketed, as she reportedly raked in monthly earnings of $9.2 million (£7m).
However, she shocked fans when she decided to quit, and now, has finally revealed all to Laura Shin on the Unchained podcast.
Shin asked the rapper about closing down her OnlyFans account despite having made so much money, and what was going on with her venture into the $MOTHER crypto coin.
They also addressed Azalea sending her followers to the social messaging service, Telegram. instead, and whether or not she’s making more money via her crypto endeavours.

The rapper shared that’s she’s not making as much money, but she doesn’t see the two platforms as being that different from each other.
She said: “I mean, I’m sure a lot of people wouldn’t like to hear it in a way because people think about OnlyFans and they think that it’s so sexually deviant and a lot of it is, obviously.
“But a lot of it isn’t, and so for me to say what I’m going to say right now and say it’s really not that different, I’m sure a lot of people would like to think they’re a lot different to the people that go on OnlyFans.”
She explained that her time on OnlyFans was different, and it was a ‘learning experience for me because I already have experience cultivating communities’.
Sharing how she has been ‘a musician for a long time’, after building up this community of people who wanted to see her each day, and were willing to pay for it, she realised something: they were in it for the pure connection.
She shared how she initially began OnlyFans as she was hoping to create a multi-channel platform where she could post racy images that weren’t allowed on Instagram, and it spiralled from there.
She chose to set up a Telegram account instead (Telegram)
She said: “I ended up getting really sick and not being able to complete that, but what I did learn was that a lot more of my people that I would talk to every day just seemed like they wanted regular human interaction or friendship more than they wanted a transactional relationship.”
Azaela went on to say that people on Instagram that would message her and explain how they couldn’t afford their subscription that month.
She shared they would write: “I love talking to you so much and you make me laugh so much and I feel so bad that you might think that I don’t want to talk to you. So, I wanted to reach out to you here to just say that’s what happened with me but I’m here.”
The rapper said that those messages made her realise that it was ‘really just more about friendship connection’ which was ‘beyond monetary’.
So, she chose to join Telegram.
The way you can make money through Telegram is by taking advantage of its business functions.
For example, a person could sell ads, products or services, or offer a paid subscription for premium content.
Earlier this year on 2 June, she wrote an update to fans of her OF account: “Hey everyone! I enjoyed our conversations so much – but I’ve decided I don’t have enough time to chat via this page anymore.
“You can find me on telegram. If you miss me too much! Bye for now.”
However, she also recently hit out at ‘broke’ fans who couldn’t afford her OnlyFans fee in February.
Back when Iggy had a $25-entry fee in 2023, she spoke out about a fan’s request to ‘please show more on your OnlyFans’, as they didn’t think it was explicit enough.
The ‘Fancy’ rapper responded on social media: “Anyone saying that is broke and hasn’t unlocked the paid content because I pose nude.
“It’s $25 entry, not $25 for full access. They thought wrong.”
