It’s not all ringlights and money: Girthmasterr shares the harsh reality of OnlyFans job

‘It’s the type of thing that makes me anxious and apprehensive’

Ben, widely known in online communities as the one and only Girthmasterr, is an OnlyFans model and porn performer with nearly 900k followers on Twitter, nearly 200k on TikTok, and a hefty subscriber count that sees him rake in up to $80k a month. He began posting his steamy pictures to Reddit and Tumblr, but when a former girlfriend suggested making some cash off the pics, his world changed forever.

“[She] told me to stop giving it away for free, because people would pay for it. Honestly, I thought it’d be just a little bit of beer money. But it kind of snowballed,” he earlier told Rolling Stone.

Though Girthmasterr has always spoken highly of the industry that allowed him to go from pizza delivery boy to millionaire, he’s never shied away from exposing the dark underbelly of his x-rated job.

He regularly works 80-hour weeks

After working in the corn industry for a few years, Girthmasterr is said to be earning up to $80k a month flogging pictures and videos on OnlyFans. He’s also prominent on other x-rated sites and even sells a sex toy modelled on his own manhood. Despite the clear positives of the x-rated industry, he regularly works 80-hour weeks, which is practically double the normal average.

“So I probably shoot a couple times a week,” he explained. “Like edit the videos, spend a lot of time marketing. I’d say I spend 60 to 80 hours a week working. I went full-time a year ago, so it’s been a pretty big year. Like, I travel to the States a few times to shoot content with some big names. It’s been really fun.”

There’s a fine line to walk on social media

Sites such as Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter are incredibly powerful tools when it comes to marketing OnlyFans content. But there’s a fine line between genius marketing and outright breaking the rules, and Girthmasterr has had a few viral “grey sweatpants moments.”

“I definitely crossed the line of the community guidelines for my sweatpants,” he told Interview Magazine. “The first time it happened, I was in Scotland in a tiny Airbnb and I was wearing gray sweatpants, very much showing, and because the Airbnb was so tiny, I looked about eight feet tall with just it showing in the pants in this tiny cramped kitchen, and every video I posted was getting 3, 4, 5 million views, and I did that for about a month until the account got deleted, so I had to clean up my act.”

Interactions in the wild are not always healthy

Standing at 6-foot seven inches, Girthmasterr is bound to be recognised out and about, and he often hears people shouting his name in the street. However, some people take it too far.

“I don’t enjoy it. Touching somebody’s intimate parts without consent is pretty much assault, and it’s the type of thing that makes me anxious and apprehensive to go into crowds by myself,” he said on TikTok after someone groped him at Oktoberfest.

Women are treated differently

If you spend any time on the internet, you’ll know that OnlyFans performers are not always treated with kindness and respect. Bonnie Blue and Lily Phillips’ comment sections are always a hot mess, and Girthmasterr said there’s a definite divide between how male and female performers are treated.

“The outrage is definitely valid,” he told Rolling Stone. “Women should be upset they get treated differently to the way I get treated. It doesn’t make sense, and I completely understand why they’d be upset by that.

He would blame that double standard on, “Andrew Tate-type figures online who say OnlyFans creators are low-value women, that women should be modest, and that sort of thing. It’s insecure men who don’t like the idea that women can be independent, and can do all these things themselves and might not need a man in their life.”
