Kate Nash has announced she has started her own OnlyFans account, by sharing a very daring photo of her bottom as she begged her fans to ‘buy a piece of my a**e’.
The singer, 37, took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday to reveal she had joined the X-rated subscription site to be able to fund her tour, with a thinly-veiled attack on the music industry.
Headlining the post: ‘BUTTS 4 TOUR BUSES’ she shared a racy photo of her behind, clad in a skimpy black thong and fishnet tights, with a very cheeky cutout.
Giving her reasoning for the new venture, Kate wrote: ‘Touring makes losses not profits. Help me stay on tour, pay great wages and put on a high quality show by buying a piece of my a**e or merch!’
She then quipped: ‘Don’t worry about streaming my music I’m good for the 0.003 of a penny thanks. Woo!’
The actress also offered a 20 per cent off discount for the first 20 subscribers, with her monthly subscription costing £7.90 ($9.99).
While the link to her site reveals another raunchy photo of her bottom in another pink thong and sexy suspenders, with her bio reading: ‘musician on tour’.
The announcement comes after Kate opened up on her financial struggles after she was dropped from her record label in 2012.
Three years later the hitmaker discovered her manager Gary Marella, had been stealing large sums of money from her, which resulted in near-bankruptcy and forcing her to get a job at a comic store and sell her clothes second-hand.
Speaking to The Guardian in June of this year, Kate revealed that being cast in Netflix series Glow in 2017 had been the ‘break that saved her’.
She said: ‘When Glow came along, it saved my life. I’d trusted the wrong people with my money, which meant I had to sell my flat and move back in with my parents. I’d worked so hard and had nothing to show for it.
‘The worst part was that I knew I wasn’t going to give up. I briefly thought I should become a teacher instead, but then I realised: “How are you going to do that? You don’t even have a degree because you didn’t get into any universities.”
‘Having this career is about fighting your way through it. Push push, tour tour. Other times you get a break that saves you. Now I’ve got into a nice place where I’m signed to a new label and out of survival mode for the first time in years.’
While she hit out again at the industry for being extremely challenging for artists to make a living, saying: ‘I love being an artist but it’s constant work, especially now music feels as if it’s an industry for the rich. Musicians are making less money, even from touring.’
The singer was attended the Brits School and was discovered via MySpace, thanks to her conversational lyrics and catchy choruses.
She became an overnight star – enjoying a huge hit single with Foundations in 2007, before topping the charts with debut album Made Of Bricks and won best female artist at the BRIT Awards in 2008.
Kate recently made her return to music with her new album 9 Sad Symphonies, which was released in June, and she is currently heading on tour in the UK and Northern Ireland.
It marked her first album in six years, with single Millions Of Heartbreaks, capturing the hearts of her fans, who fell in love with the track, similar to when she first hit the big time.
The exciting album release also came just after the songstress reportedly got ‘secretly engaged’ to her long-term boyfriend Thomas Silverman.
Kate was said to have found her happy ending in May, and is planning to tie the knot by the end of the year, according to The Sun.
A source told the publication: ‘Kate and Tom are engaged and are planning to get married later this year.
‘They couldn’t be happier and are such a lovely couple. They have been quietly dating for several years and actually met when they were at school.’
The pair live together in their LA home alongside their two rescue dogs Vlad and Stella.
Kate follows in the footsteps of her fellow pop star Lily Allen in joining adult subscription site OnlyFans in order to make some cash.
Lily, 39, announced she had signed up in the summer to sell pictures and videos of her feet, much to the surprise of her fans.
She had previously hinted she was considering selling foot-related content on her podcast with best pal Miquita Oliver, saying: ‘I have a lady that comes and does my nails.
‘They informed me that I have five stars on WikiFeet, which is quite rare. My feet are rated quite highly on the internet.”
‘She said that I could make a lot of money from selling foot content on OnlyFans. And I’m like, “Not no”.’
She finally revealed her page in July, under the title ‘Lily Allen FTSE500’, where for £8 a month, subscribers can now gain access to a variety of images of the star’s posed-up feet.
And like Kate, she explained the decision stemmed from the lack of money artists got from streaming, admitting last month she makes more money showcasing snaps of her feet than she does as a singer.
Lily took to X, formerly known as Twitter, in October to reveal that despite having over eight million monthly listeners on Spotify, she earns more money with her X-rated side hustle.
Hitting back at a troll blasting her decision to join OnlyFans, she wrote: ‘Imagine being an artist and having nearly eight million monthly listeners on Spotify but earning more money from having 1,000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.’
While the actress has also said she finds selling feet pictures ’empowering’ after years of being ‘sexualized’ by people from a ‘very young age.’
And Lily added that her husband, Stranger Things actor David Harbour, thinks her new business endeavor is ‘great.’
