Liam Payne was reportedly feeling lonely days before he fell to his death in Argentina as the One Direction star reached out to two OnlyFans models for comfort despite having a girlfriend at the time.
The 31-year-old was found dead at a hotel in Buenos Aires after appearing to fall from the third balcony, with countless Class A substances found in the apartment including cocaine and crack cocaine as he apparently relapsed into drug abuse.
He had battled mental health issues in the past, particularly depression, and in what seemed to be a plea for help he contacted two British adult content creators who are now remaining anonymous for fear of backlash.
It’s said that he was not contacting them for sex, as he was in a relationship with Kate Cassidy at the time, but wanted to find some friends as per a statement by Rebel Agency, who the two OnlyFans women star for.
“Liam was reaching out for friendship, not sex,” Rebel Agency told RadarOnline.com. “His messages to our clients were pretty platonic. They were a bit flirty, but he wasn’t talking to them about arranging sex or saying anything sleazy.
“It’s clear he was reaching out as a cry for help, and it is very probable he was messaging a string of girls from subscription sites like OnlyFans just to make contact with people in his last days.”
The Agency added that the messages could come out as part of local law enforcement’s probe into who supplied him with the dangerous drugs that are said to have contributed, if not caused, his death.
They also said there is nothing to be ‘ashamed’ of and that Payne said the two women, who were One Direction fans themselves, reminded him of his ex-partners and that the pair are ‘devastated’ by his death.
Payne’s mental health issues
Despite being one of the most recognizable faces of British music from 2010-2016 and amassing a net worth thought to be in the region of $31m, as well as a family with Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole, Payne battled mental health issues.
And he made no secret of it towards the second half of his music career as he opened up to the loneliness and battles with his health whilst talking to Ant Middleton and Liam Payne: Straight Talking, on Sky TV.
“For some certain circumstances – I’m quite lucky to be here still,” Payne said in 2019. “Which is something I’ve never really shared with anyone. I can’t go too deep into it because I don’t know how I feel myself. I still haven’t made my peace with it, to be honest.
“You’ve [Middleton] probably been through the same situations. There’s times where that level of loneliness and people getting into you every day. Just every so often, you’re like, when will this end? That’s almost nearly killed me a couple of times.”
