Given the popularity of wikiFeet and paltry streaming platform payouts, it was understandable when Lily Allen dipped her toe into the OnlyFans waters to post feet pics earlier this year. According to the singer, the decision has already paid off, as her monthly revenue from the subscription site has surpassed her Spotify income.
Allen shared this information while responding to a Twitter user who called her out for posting feet pics. “imagine being [an] artist and having nearly 8 million monthly listeners on spotify but earning more money from having 1000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet,” she wrote. “don’t hate the player, hate the game.”
In the random person’s tweet, they wrote, “Imagine being one of the biggest pop stars/musicians in Europe and then being reduced to this.”
The British artist launched her OnlyFans in July after first bringing up the topic on her Miss Me? podcast. “I have a lady that comes and does my nails,” she said. “They informed me that I have five stars on WikiFeet, which is quite rare. My feet are rated quite highly on the internet.”
Spotify pays out $0.003 per stream according to a recent “generous” estimate, a number that would have to be split several ways unless Allen owns her publishing and masters. Without knowing Allen’s splits and total streams, there’s no simple way to guess her income from 7.5 million monthly listeners.
However, we can calculate that 1,000 OnlyFans subscribers paying $10 per month would tally $10,000. OnlyFans reportedly takes 20% of subscription revenue, which would leave Allen with $8,000 per month. That’s no paltry sum for relatively little work.
Allen’s most recent album, No Shame, dropped in 2018. She released a memoir titled My Thoughts Exactly that same year.
