Robert decided to walk 198-miles from Birmingham to Newcastle in 10 days to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and mental health causes.
He’s aiming to weigh 20 stone (127kg) by the time he starts his walk at the end of next month, and is already feeling the benefits not just physically but mentally too.
So far, he has raised £795 out of his £10,000 target.
Posting on GoFundMe, Robert wrote: “I’m taking on a personal and physical challenge: Walking 198 miles (330 kilometers) over 10 days, from Birmingham New Street Station to Newcastle upon Tyne.
“It’s a journey of endurance, reflection, and most importantly — purpose.
“I’m walking to raise funds and awareness for two causes that are incredibly close to my heart: mental health and cancer research.

“These are challenges that touch all of us—whether through personal battles or the struggles of loved ones. Mental health issues continue to affect millions silently, while cancer remains one of the most relentless diseases of our time.
“But together, we can support the organisations working tirelessly to provide care, fund research, and offer hope.
“This isn’t just a walk—it’s a statement. That with every mile, we can make a difference. Every step forward is in memory, in solidarity, and in hope for a better tomorrow.
“How you can help: Donate whatever you can—every pound truly counts. Share this campaign to spread the word. Cheer me on along the way!
“Your support will keep me going on the long roads, tough climbs, and rainy stretches. But more importantly, it will directly help those in need of mental health support and vital cancer treatment and research.
“Thank you so much for reading, for donating, and for believing in the power of small steps leading to big change.”
