Former Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso, who represented her nation at this year’s Paris Olympics but was allegedly expelled from the Olympic Village, has made her debut on the internet content subscription platform OnlyFans. She competed in the 100m butterfly at the Paris event.
This August, Alonso announced her maiden Olympic Games qualification in the women’s 100m butterfly but was unable to advance to the semifinal after finishing sixth in her heat. Besides her participation, the 20-year-old found herself at the center of a controversy during the Paris event, where she was reportedly thrown out of the village for allegedly ‘creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay.’
Responding to the controversy, Alonso denied the allegations and requested people not to spread false rumors. However, Larissa Schaerer, the head of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, said in her statement about Alonso:
“Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay. We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes’ Village.” (via The Sun)
In a recent turn of events, after bidding goodbye to her swimming career, Luana Alonso made her debut on OnlyFans and introduced herself as:
“Promise you won’t regret this. We’re gonna have a lot of fun together.” While her bio reads “Your favourite ex-swimmer.” (via Daily Mail)
Subscribing to her swimwear content will cost the fans a monthly premium of $35.
“I will always have a fondness for swimming” – Luana Alonso on her swimming career
After retiring from swimming, Luana Alonso noted that she was happy that her last professional race was the Olympics but acknowledged that swimming is not the only thing that she desires from life. Speaking to Paraguay’s digital newspaper Hoy, she said:
“I made the decision to stop and I am happy that my last race will be at the Olympics. I will always have a fondness for swimming and I may attend a competition, but it is not what I want in life. What I want is to work for a company. I already have my life plan and hopefully it can happen.”
Alonso, who has also represented Southern Methodist University and Virginia Tech during her collegiate days, further shared that she plans to continue her studies in political science and aspires to become a sports minister.
