Kurts Adams Rozentals, who competes in the individual canoe slalom, said he ‘froze’ after receiving a call from Paddle UK to tell him that he was suspended from competing
British canoeist Kurts Adams Rozentals says he has been forced to choose between his Olympic dream and his OnlyFans account after being suspended from competing following “allegations” about his social media posts.
Rozentals, who competes in the individual canoe slalom, has been suspended from competing since April and removed from Paddle UK’s World Class Programme – UK Sport’s lottery-funded initiative to assist athletes for the Olympics – pending an investigation.
It comes as former Olympian Mary Lou Retton was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, online court records revealed. Elsewhere, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has reaffirmed its ban on Russian teams for the 2026 Winter Olympics, dashing NHL star Alex Ovechkin’s hopes of competing in a fourth Olympic Games.

Paddle UK – a national governing body in the United Kingdom for canoeing, kayaking and other paddlesports – has so far refused to clarify the nature of the allegations surrounding Rozentals’ social media post.
The athlete, however, suspects they have something to do with him creating content on internet content subscription service OnlyFans, which is renowned for hosting adult content.
Rozentals has more than 10,000 ‘likes’ on OnlyFans, over 100 photos, and 39 photos, contributing to more than £100,000 ($134,963) in earnings since creating his account in January.
“I have been posting videos (on Instagram) that are consciously made to be edgy in order to drive conversions to my ‘spicy content page’ (on OnlyFans), to fund this ultimate dream of going to the Olympics,” Rozentals told BBC Sport.
Recalling the moment he received a call from a Paddle UK representative last month to inform him of his suspension, he added: “I kind of froze and I couldn’t believe the words I was hearing because this is what I put my life into this is everything I do.”
The reason Rozentals created his OnlyFans account was to help fund his training programme. Paddle UK provides its athletes with an annual grant of £16,000 ($21,600) to support their training – an amount which Rozentals says is nowhere near enough.
“When you have to cover rent, travel, food… and most athletes who train full-time are all living in London,” he explained. “They’re very fortunate to have parent backing – I wasn’t.

“I never had the ability to move to London because of financial struggles so I was always doing the travel from the East Midlands, where I live, to London, back-and-forth, back-and-forth.”
Asked if he will stop posting on OnlyFans in order to preserve his place on the programme, Rozentals said it was the hardest decision he’s ever faced in his life, but believes he should not be having to choose between financial security and his Olympic dream.
“This is the hardest decision that I’ve ever faced in my life,” he said. “It’s a tough decision but unless something changes in the way athletes are paid I don’t see a way of working with Paddle UK”.
