An OnlyFans model and vocal supporter of Colombia’s president is facing backlash after landing a plum job in government.

Records shows that Laura Martínez, an influencer and ardent supporter of leftist president Gustavo Petro, signed a one-year contract in September paying 101,400,000 pesos to provide her services to the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management.

The controversial deal was made public for the first time on January 29 by political activist and Petro opponent Jairo Landino, who said she was going to be a part of the richest 5 percent of the country’s population.

Landino raised ‘corruption’ concerns because the Electronic System for Public Procurement – a site that can be accessed by the public – indicated that the contract had been signed on January 21, four months after it had been granted.

Critics have pointed out that Martínez should have never been contracted because she only graduated from high school.

However, the adult content creator in the past provided proof that received a certificate in industrial engineering from the San José Higher Education Foundation.

Martínez shared a lengthy explanation on her X account, where she posts the majority of her political content, to defend herself from the ongoing attacks over the deal.

‘If the people who posted my contract under the excuse of ‘political control’ and next to it posted a photo of my OnlyFans with the headline ‘8 million pesos for a prostitute without a degree’ knew that behind this account there is a mother who takes care of an autistic child, maybe, just maybe they would have thought twice before giving their opinion,’ she wrote.

‘But the hatred towards this political project has led them to a virtual hitmanship that not only affects me, but could end up costing the life of my son, an 8-year-old boy who completely depends on me.’

A threat posted online depicted Martínez’s head sticking out of a luggage bag inside a dumpster, referencing the murder of Valentina Trespalacios, who was killed by her American boyfriend, John Paulos, and abandoned inside a container.

Martínez said she has been considering moving from her current home due to the constant menacing.

‘Today I have to think about fleeing, about changing my residence, because the profilers may not know it, but their followers are already finding out where my son studies,’ she wrote.

‘When I made the decision to open OnlyFans, I knew the consequences and that’s why I spoke about it publicly,’ she continued.

‘When I was given the opportunity to work with the State, I also knew this and I said it openly. But the real problem here is not my work, nor my private life, but the fact of supporting Gustavo Petro. That’s what really bothers me.’

A source with the National Disaster Risk Management System told El Tiempo newspaper that Martínez had their full support.

‘Martínez Morales has been an active part of our political project. She was hired under all the legal requirements and has had experience in the work for which she was hired,’ the source said.

‘It is not true that she is only a high school graduate. She has a degree in industrial engineering from the San José Higher Education Foundation. And on the other subject we can only say that it is about her private life.’

Following the news of Martínez’s deal, National Disaster Risk Management System Director Carlos Carrillo revealed that the agency was operating under budget.

‘To date we have not received a single cent. And this is a call to the national government to deliver these resources; if not, we will surely have many difficulties in responding in the coming year,’ Carrillo said, as quoted by Semana weekly news magazine.

Carrillo said the agency should be funded with $452,000, including $100,000 that should be on hand for emergencies.
