On May 27, a Virginia woman pled guilty to second degree murder charges after driving 300 miles to an Ohio national park to kill her alleged rapist
In March of 2021, Alexandria, Virginia woman Chelsea Perkins drove 300 miles to meet Matthew Dunmire, where she shot and killed him. Perkins is a Coast Guard veteran and former OnlyFans model.
The motive for the murder is unclear, but court documents say Perkins and Dunmire knew each other previously, which Perkins accusing Dunmire of rape in 2017. According to court records, Dunmire was not charged due to lack of evidence.

After executing a search warrant for her home in Virginia, investigators found evidence linking Perkins to the crime, including GPS data, DNA, her social media and phone records, and ballistics analysis. Three 9mm pistols were also found in Perkins purse during the search of her home.
She’s scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 9. If the court accepts her plea, Perkins will face between 20-25 years in federal prison.
