OnlyFans Performer Says Her Choices Don’t Conflict with Christian Values — Since When?
By Movieguide® Contributor
OnlyFans performer, 20-year-old Sophie Rain, doesn’t see a problem with how she makes her money.
“The Lord’s very forgiving, and He put me on here. He put me on earth for a reason and I’m just living every day,” she decided. “If this wasn’t meant for me, I wouldn’t be here right now.”
Though God is “very forgiving,” that’s not a free pass to sin.
The Florida native grew up in a Christian household and attended church with her family every week. She says she checks on her “home church” every now and then when they stream online services.
“I didn’t tell [my family] when I started it. At first, I kind of kept it a secret, and then they found out and they were upset,” she said. “I was kind of nervous at first because I wasn’t sure what they were going to think of me as, if that makes sense.”
“I love the people I’m around. I’m around a great group of people. All my friends and cousins, they do it as well,” said Rain.
She says her family is “very supportive” now, and she hopes to buy her parents a new home soon. She grew up in a low-income household. So now with an income of over $43 million a year, she feels much more financial freedom.
Movieguide® previously reported about the dangers of OnlyFans and pornography:
The damage caused by pornography, particularly when distributed without consent, is far-reaching and often unquantifiable. It threatens the safety of individuals and their families, creating an environment of constant fear and anxiety.
Beyond the obvious legal and ethical violations, the propagation of this material may have a profound, unseen impact on those featured in the content. Most concerning is that, for every image or video, it is virtually impossible to know if the victim truly consented. As a result, those who consume this material unknowingly contribute to the cycle of exploitation and harm. It also damages relationships.
Rain feels successful and seems to be basking in the worldly praise that being wealthy or being a sexual performer receives. But she’s wrong about Christianity’s role in her career — it has none. She’s fallen into a pit of deception. This is not God’s design for her.

There’s a view of Christianity in culture today that is deeply skewed — and it’s the idea that as long as you feel good about yourself and that you’re happy, then God must be happy with you.
But lack of conviction for sin, which is clearly defined in the Bible, means nothing. It indicates a lack of relationship with Jesus, if not a distant one.
God’s word speaks again and again of the harms of sexual immorality, saying a woman who practices it leads “down to death” in Proverbs 7:5.
Now, does God want his children’s footsteps to lead down to death? No. He wants them to lead others to heaven. Selling one’s body online or in person does the very opposite.
Pastor and author Bill Henard says God is always trying to reach us. This is written about in many verses in the Bible — Jeremiah 31:3, 1 John 4:19 and Jeremiah 1:5 are a few — but if we don’t actually apply ourselves to listening to Him or studying His word, we won’t know His heart for us.
“What does God want from us? He wants you to pursue after Him — to know Him. Psalm 14:2 says, ‘The Lord looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God,” Henard wrote. “When we understand what God has done for us and that He is a treasure worth more than anything we could acquire in this life, we pursue Him.”
If Rain and others like her would do this, she’d understand God’s true desire for her and where her true value lies.
Now, yes, God does forgive all sins, but that doesn’t mean sin is condoned. God wants us to flee from sexual immorality, realize our sins and repent.
Christian writer Oluwadara Oloye says it’s a serious error to believe sin is without consequences. “Through Adam’s sin, death came into the world (Romans 5:12-19). The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Eternally, God will punish sin in hell (Matthew 13:36-43, 47-50). All of us have sinned,” he says. “Those sins must be punished by God—the righteous and good judge. Shall the judge of all the earth not do what is right? (Genesis 18:25).”
God doesn’t forgive sin by overlooking it. He forgives it through faith and repentance.
“God freely forgives, but someone paid the price. Christ’s cross work is the basis of our salvation. We can only be forgiven through faith in him and that work,” says Oloye.
“He bore the punishment we should have, so that we might no longer be slaves of sin who’re bound to hell but slaves of righteousness who’re bound for heaven. God freely forgives, but someone paid the price.”
He concluded, “So, ‘Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound?’ Paul’s answer is plain: ‘God forbid.’ For ‘how can we who have died to sin continue to live in it? (Romans 6:1).’”
