Another day, another reality TV star realizing that they can make money more consistently on OnlyFans. So whomst has bitten the reality TV dust this time? Well, that’s going to require harkening back to Married at First Sight UK 2024. Remember Ryan Livesey? Yeah, that guy’s on OnlyFans now, joining a growing trend of reality stars who have decided that if they’re going to be gossip fodder anyway, they might as well take control of the narrative and make bank while they’re at it.
If you read that and were like “who the fuck is Ryan Livesey?” first of all, I’d like to congratulate you on retaining brain cells by skipping out on Married at First Sight UK 2024. There is no hope for me, however, so I’ll fill you in right quick. Ryan Livesey is a single dad in the UK, a survivor and advocate for bladder cancer awareness, and a former semi-professional footballer. He’s dabbled in modeling and was also a participant on Married at First Sight UK 2024. He was partnered with Sionainn Carmichael for the experiment, and it was—to put it politely—an utter flop. As the title of the show suggests, they were married immediately upon meeting one another, and that marriage fizzled out faster than discount fireworks on the 5th of July. Their breakup was pretty public, their screen time pretty minimal, their thirst trap potential was pretty incredible. They were splitsville before the end of the show, and since that hoped-for success didn’t so much happen, Ryan turned his mind to another, more entrepreneurial adventure: OnlyFans, where apparently all of the disillusioned reality TV stars go for a second shake at fame and financial stability.
Don’t believe me? Let’s take a closer look, shall we? Megan Barton-Hanson was a Love Island hopeful who has since joined OnlyFans. Stephen Bear from Ex on the Beach has an OnlyFans account—granted, it’s generally just best to avoid giving that guy attention. Friends don’t let friends reward people who engage in revenge porn. Anyhow, another reality TV star who is making bank on OnlyFans? Blac Chyna of Rob & Chyna rebranded herself on OnlyFans and is now a millionaire, courtesy of her wild success on the adults-only platform.
Why are so many reality stars moving to OnlyFans? Well, TV shows give them a following and a paycheck, but once the show wraps or they’re voted off the island, the paycheck is gone. The following, however, can continue to follow right along and help manifest a new paycheck by paying $9.99/month for access to bikini pics that aren’t shared anywhere else online. Not only that, but OnlyFans gives content creators full creative control over the content they make, so if those bikini pics are spicy enough for their liking? They can strip down fully and show off their birthday suit to a paying audience.
There’s also much more earning potential on OnlyFans than is found in a TV contract. That contract might dictate that a star is paid a couple grand—but there’s always some pretty strict fine print that has iron-clad NDA-esque elements, and zero residual pay once the show is over. OnlyFans doesn’t put a cap on how much their creators can earn on the platform, meaning that the higher that subscriber count climbs, the higher their recurring monthly revenue gets. There’s also the added benefit that there isn’t a producer somewhere telling creators to stop crying and get back on camera when they’re going through it, because again—they’re the producer of their own content.
For those who are curious about Ryan’s page… it’s on sale right now. He’s charging $6.50 as an introductory rate for the moment and has 48 paying subscribers so far! His captions are pretty cheeky, and I won’t lie to you; the man is pretty to look at. Married at First Sight may not have brought Livesey the love of his life, but it might just bring him a lifelong source of financial support—and that’s the relationship that really pays off, amirite?
