Olympic pole vaulter Alysha Newman is paying no mind to critics over her OnlyFans endeavors.
Newman — who became a viral sensation Wednesday after celebrating her bronze-medal finish in the women’s pole vault final by twerking in front of the Stade de France crowd — spoke to German publication BILD about her presence on the subscription fan site, where roughly 65,000 users have “liked” her profile.
“Of course, many people have a certain cliché when they think of OnlyFans. I can’t change many people’s minds,” Newman, 30, said.
“… But this website has connected me with many fans, more than any other pole vaulter before. What others think about it doesn’t bother me. I am who I am and I do it well.”
Newman posts “a lot of [her] training sessions” on OnlyFans, with BILD reporting it costs $7.14 to view her page during the Paris Games versus a monthly subscription of $12.99.
Content creators are said to “keep around 20 percent of the revenue,” per BILD.
“I earn money with what I post – you have to log in to find out. It makes me confident and I feel good about it,” Newman said.
2024 PARIS OLYMPICS
It’s been an Olympics to remember for Newman, who secured Canada’s first medal in women’s pole vaulting after reaching a height of 4.85 meters — smashing a Canadian national record.
“It was a surreal moment. It was awesome,” Newman said, according to Canada’s Olympic website.
“Everyone was saying if someone was going to do it it would be me and I’m so happy I lived up to that expectation.”
Australia’s Nina Kennedy took gold while Katie Moon of Team USA clinched silver.
The Paris Games mark Newman’s third Olympics. She made her debut at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
