October 2024. Lily Phillips, a 23-year-old sex worker, posted on X: “If you’re over 18, an active subscriber, available on October 19 in London and agree to be filmed (your face can be hidden), send a photo of yourself holding your ID.” She was planning to sleep with 100 men in 24 hours and posted the whole event on the OnlyFans platform. Within days, her name started circulating on social media.
The challenge was documented by Joshua Pieters, a YouTuber with 1.5 million subscribers, known for his hidden-camera videos. The video, which has garnered 10 million views since its publication on December 7, reveals a chaotic organization. While participants are required to provide an HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) test, Phillips admitted on camera that it’s difficult to verify these, and that she was unaware that some infections can be transmitted orally. On the big day, dozens of men waited outside the London Airbnb, and Phillips’ team of nine employees was quickly overwhelmed: she didn’t even have time for lunch. The OnlyFans star finally broke down in tears.
Comments flooded the British press, with daily newspapers like The Times and The Standard comparing the men who took part in the “challenge” to Gisèle Pélicot’s rapists. “It’s quite ironic that feminists should criticize the performance of a woman who is free with her body and enjoys having sex,” replied Phillips, contacted by Le Monde. And the tears at the end of the documentary? “Just a reaction to the pressure, I’ve had a hard day at work,” she replied with a shrug, preferring to focus on the fact that her number of subscribers on OnlyFans is said to have “increased by 80%.”
