For anyone afraid to show face, or who doesn’t want to get recognized at Starbucks, a faceless OnlyFans is a valid way to earn some extra income while pursuing the things you love. One anonymous Reddit poster shared that she was able to start a faceless OnlyFans page where she shared images and video content of herself doing naked yoga. The Reddit poster shared that she was raised in a trailer park, was the first in her family to go to college, and had a successful career in STEM before ultimately deciding that it wasn’t for her. She took advantage of the pandemic necessitating an increase in digital content and in just two years made quite the chunk of change by posting faithfully to her OnlyFans channel.
According to the anonymous poster, as of two years ago her net earnings on OnlyFans were $4,000,000 (prior to OnlyFans collecting their 20%, and paying Federal and State taxes on her income). She’s used her OnlyFans earnings to make some practical investments— think a home, vehicle, and a decent chunk of change invested into the stock market. As of posing her question 2 years ago, the content creator had a networth of $2,385,000 (not including a 30% cash emergency fund) after tallying her total assets and subtracting her outstanding debts. The anonymous poster intends to retire young, and live off of a 3.5% annual draw from her assets.
This kind of scenario is what most people imagine when they think of making big money on OnlyFans. That kind of windfall takes a lot of hard work, and a little bit of luck. The luck we can’t really help with, but what we can do is break down the general steps that the anonymous poster followed that led to her being worth well over a million dollars.
Treat content creation like a full-time job
The anonymous poster was very forthcoming about the time-investement that went into making her channel a success. She dedicated up to 12-hours a day to her channel, ensuring that her subscribers had fresh content every single day to look foreward to.
This content creator was running a “naked yoga” channel, and even the most seasoned of yogi’s will tell you that maintaining your own yoga practice requires some level of brainstorming and planning. If you are filming your yoga practice nude for an audience that will be paying you, that requires a further level of planning still. Part of the 12 hours per day that went into building her channel into a source of financial independence involved dedicating a hefty amount of time to planning her content. She had to decided how to set up her space, what lighting was needed to showcase her body without revealing her face, what poses she’d be featuring that day, what sequences would work into those poses, etc. After she was finished shooting footage for the day, she also had to go through the footage to edit her shots, and determine if any of them needing to be re-done— and if they did then she would have to allocate more time to a task she’d already completed. All of those things take time that needs to be factored into a typical content creation work day.
Once the content was planned, captured, and edited, it still needed to be uploaded to her OnlyFans page. This creator operated from the mindset of “every day matters,” and that mindset served her very well. Every single day, her subscribers could count on being able to log in and see fresh content that wasn’t there the day prior. That meant that a part of her daily workflow was dedicated to uploading the content that she’d captured. That is a whole task in and of itself, files need to be labled in a way that catches the attention of the intended audience, captions for both video and picture content need to be written, and any private messaging content also needs to be uploaded and sent.
Speaking of private messaging, that isn’t an obligation for OnlyFans content creators, but many do invest some time and effort into cultivating a relationship with their fans via private messaging. Whether they’re sending personalized messages with custom video or image content, or simply clocking which subscribers are showing up in their inboxes consistently and nurturing that relationship so that they’ll keep paying extra for the personalized interaction, that is still more content that takes time to plan and execute. Even if a content creator is utilizing an AI chatbot to help manage messages, the AI chatbot also has to be managed.
Plan for the personal cost – and we don’t mean money
This particular content creator has admitted that she ignored her mental health for the two years that she kept her head down, and her camera rolling. Part of what she intends to do when she retires from content creation is to spend time with friends that she hasn’t been able to connect with much while building her empire, and enjoy hobbies outside of yoga that have been long-neglected.
Not everyone has the luxury of being able to bypass their mental health needs in pursuit of building up a paying audience. If you are someone who can spend 12 hours a day Monday – Friday devoting all of your time and energy towards content creation without a break, you’re in the minority. Most people will need time to pursue hobbies, friendships, and romantic relationships offline to not dry up their own creative well.
For example, if you are someone who needs regular visits to the gym in order to keep the creative juices flowing in addition to staying active, you will want to make sure and protect that time. Either factor gym visits into your workflow or make that the priority you tend to when you log off for the day. You will also need to eat. Are you going to be cooking for yourself? Racking up points in your DoorDash account? Hiring a meal prep service? In order to maintain some sense of balance, you’re going to have to decide what your priorities are other than building your subscriber base.
Same rule applies to all areas of your life. If you’re buckling down and getting serious about your OnlyFans page, now is probably not the time to get a new pet, because something like a new puppy is going to require a lot more time than you have to give. Tending to pets, tending to relationships, gardening, gaming, and any hobbies that you enjoy outside of creating content for your followers will all have to be intentionally factored into your flow. What stays and what gets put on pause is going to vary from person to person, but successful content creators don’t have a ton of spare time outside of working hours.
Think like an investor
This is where we get into mindset and goal-setting. If your idea of success is being able to buy expensive cars and bottle service, you’re not going to be as financially successful in the long-term as someone who thinks like an investor: Someone who uses the money they earned yesterday to make money tomorrow, a year, five years from now.
The average American carries some kind of debt. If you want to retire early from any strategy, you’ll want to reduce yours. Pay off high-interest debt first. It doesn’t matter if you’re earning 7% interest on your investments if you’re paying 30% in interest on credit card debt. It’s okay to carry a mortgage, as long as you’re not house poor.
Remember, you’ll have to pay your own taxes on your OnlyFans earnings. So set aside 20% and make your payments to the IRS every quarter. Uncle Sam is the last person you want to owe money to.
It can be tempting to reward all of your hard work with an expensive car. Our advice for anyone who wants to parlay OnlyFans success into financial independence? Don’t. A car won’t appreciate in value, and if you can have a car that’s paid off instead of paying a car note, that’s more money you can use to get out of debt or invest.
Student loans got you down? Use your OF income to help pay them off. Just because OP’s loans were on pause during the pandemic when she started her channel doesn’t mean you should get discouraged. Stick with it, and get creative about how you can engage more of your followers every day.
Don’t forget to plan for emergencies
Personal finance experts recommend always having 3-6 months of living expenses saved in cash. While it might be tempting to put Benjamins in a shoebox under the bed, you could put your cash into a high yield savings account and let it accrue interest at a rate of at least 4%.
Be frugal.
This is probably the least sexy advice we could give you. However, you can’t make an article about early retirement without reminding people that spending lots of money on things you don’t need isn’t going to pay off well in the long term.
We don’t mean “spend less money on avocado toast”, we mean “ once subscription fees start making you figures with multiple zeroes every month, avoid the temptation to spend your money impulsively on things you don’t need”. Investing in quality production equipment is one thing, but buying a luxury vehicle won’t move the needle towards your goal of early retirement. Yes, not eating out a ton will save you some money, but not signing a lease you can’t easily afford will save you much more.
Can I retire early with a faceless OnlyFans in 2025?
Short answer, yes.
Long answer: yes, but you’ll still have to work for it. Although we don’t have the economic tailwind behind us of student loans being on pause, and we’re heading into an uncertain future with an ever-changing political climate, 2025 would be the year to start getting serious about your OnlyFans if you haven’t already. Although porn content sites are not compliant with age verification laws, OnlyFans users often verify with a valid state ID, so they’re still able to log in and find the content that they want to see. Reddit is still a strong marketing channel that won’t be subject to age verification. As young adults are able to progress more easily in their careers than in their social lives, OnlyFans will be there to help fill in the gaps.
Obviously this is coupled with a need to make smart investments with compounding interest that will grow over time. One thing NOT to do is to go out and start buying WalMart Birkin bags thinking that you’ll be able to become an influencer because that’s an asset that will depreciate rapidly. Same for cars. Lamborginis are sexy, but the value begins dropping faster than the new car smell can fade after you drive it off the lot.
It is absolutely possible to take your OnlyFans page from being a side hustle, to a long-term retirement plan, but it will take a very real investment of time, energy, and a commitment to showing up day after day to nurture the engagement of your subscribers. If you are ready to buckle down in 2025 and take your OnlyFans to the next level, then get to planning! That content isn’t going to create itself.
