Canadian pole vault star Alysha Newman has hit out at critics slamming her for her OnlyFans page after winning bronze in Paris.

Newman competes in the event for the North American nation and has amassed 65,000 fans on the website.

The Canadian celebrated her success at the Summer Games by twerking in front of the crowd gathered at the Stade de France, home of the national soccer team, attracting attention. However, she isn’t worried about critics hitting out over her online presence.

“Of course, many people have a certain cliché when they think of OnlyFans,” Newman told BILD. “I can’t change many people’s minds, but this website has connected me with many fans.

“More than any other pole vaulter before. What others think about it doesn’t bother me. I am who I am and I do it well.

“I earn money with what I post – you have to log in to find out. It makes me confident and I feel good about it.”

Access to Newman’s page costs $7 dollars and the dark-haired athlete said she posts a lot of her training sessions to the website.

And a monthly subscription can be purchased for the price of $12.99. That means if all her 65,000 fans bought a monthly subscription, Newman would be making $844,350 per month.

As the platform keeps 80% of revenue, she would be earning $169,000 per month or $2 million per year as a very healthy addition to the track and field star’s savings bank account.

Newman comes third

Newman, who began her career aged 14 after giving up gymnastics through injury, made her senior debut at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and finally claimed her first Olympic Games medal after attempts in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

She finished third to take the bronze back to Ottawa along with a national record as she vaulted to an exceptional 4.85 meters/15.91ft on August 7, finishing behind the USA’s Katie Moon (silver) and Australia’s Nina Kennedy (gold).

“It was a surreal moment,” Newman said, according to Canada’s Olympic website. “It was awesome.”

“Everyone was saying if someone was going to do it, it would be me and I’m so happy I lived up to that expectation.”
