What’s it like to be an Only Fans creator?
Every Friday, as part of our ‘Ask Me Anything’ series, Lunchtime Live puts your questions to people from interesting backgrounds or working in different careers.
This week, Andrea Gilligan was joined by Meghan O’Neill to answer your questions about OnlyFans.
Ms O’Neill started glamour modelling at 18, then ran a very successful gym but found it “just wasn’t fulfilling me”, so she decided to do something else.
She started her OnlyFans account last year and is very much enjoying herself.
Do you get recognised?
“Do you know what? It’s wonderful,” she said.
“I love when people come up and they take photos of you and I ask you for photos – I think it’s amazing.
“Is it a problem? Sometimes it can be a problem… but sometimes you’re just not in the mood, you just kind of want to run into the shop.
“But it’s not an issue, no. I love it.”
Do you think Only Fans has made the sex industry safer?
“Absolutely, 100%,” she said.
“At the end of the day, we are now our own bosses, we don’t have to go out to different photographers, we don’t have to go to studios, we literally can sit in the comfort and safety of our own homes and make content to our heart’s content.”
Has your view of men changed?
“Not at all,” she said.
“I’ve always loved them, I love men. I’m a big feminist and everyone always thinks that means you hate men but absolutely not.
“I love men, I have so many amusing men in my life. It has not changed my opinion, I still love them.
“They pay for my wage, there’s no reason why not to love them.”
Has she thought about what she will do after OnlyFans?
“You know what, I have really bad ADHD, so I don’t really think any further beyond today,” she said.
“But I do have bigger plans, I’m writing a book, I’m studying philosophy and psychology.
“I’m going to go on and get my PhD – so, I will be Dr Megan O’Neill in the future.
“OnlyFans isn’t forever.”
