Miss Lexa went from teaching second-grade English to running one of the best-known faceless brands in adult content, and she never had to show her face to do it. According to The Blast‘s Kristin Myers, the former Canadian elementary school teacher now brings in more than $150,000 a month as a creator.
A teacher’s paycheck had a ceiling
Lexa started out on the classic post-college path. Myers reports that she took a job teaching English to second graders in Canada, steady work that topped out at a five-figure salary.
She has been open about wanting something more. In an earlier sit-down on Plug Talk with Adam22 and Lena The Plug, she said she was bored with the go-to-work, come-home, sit-on-the-couch routine. “I’m really an exhibitionist. I love showing my body off and I just didn’t know how to do it,” she said, adding, “I couldn’t do it at school, right, I had to portray myself as a professional.”
The pandemic gave her the time
When COVID-19 shut schools and moved lessons online, Lexa suddenly had more free time than any normal school year allowed. According to The Blast, she used it to try something completely different, posting her first video to an adult site while she was still on the school payroll and deliberately keeping her face out of frame.
That first clip went viral almost right away. She kept uploading to Pornhub, and before long her earnings there were outpacing her teaching income.
From Pornhub to OnlyFans
About two years after that first upload, Lexa opened an OnlyFans page while still teaching. Myers reports that the page took off fast, she was soon averaging six figures a month, and with her online income dwarfing her classroom salary, she left teaching to run the business full time.
The mask came later. She told Plug Talk she didn’t start with it; her early videos simply cut her face out of the shot. On The Lexis Star Show, the episode description bills her as the girl with the black mask and says she explains why she’ll never take it off, along with her expansion into VR content and running multiple platforms at once.
Anonymity as the business model
The most striking part of Lexa’s rise is that every dollar has come without fans seeing her face. According to The Blast, that anonymity is now the core of her brand, and other creators regularly reach out to her for advice on building a business around faceless content, a model that keeps gaining ground across the industry.
The takeaway
Lexa’s story flips the usual assumption that you have to be fully recognizable to win big online. For creators who want the income without giving up their privacy, or their day jobs while they test the waters, a black mask and a smart content strategy have proven to be enough.
