A popular Twitch streamer has been forced to address rumours about his past after he was outed in explicit OnlyFans content.
Streamer Sketch posted a video online in which he thanked his family and friends for their support after footage emerged of him engaged in sexual acts with other men, which had been originally posted to the adult-only subscription service OnlyFans.
The 25-year-old from Houston, Texas, whose real name is Kylie Cox, said he had done “some stuff” and had been “living under the threat of that coming out for two years”.
Twitch is a video-streaming platform where users can watch people (known as streamers) play games online.
Gamers, such as Sketch, broadcast their matches as they play their favorite titles while providing running commentary on the action.
Sketch has become known for playing the American football game Madden NFL and coined the catchphrase “What’s up, brother?”.
He has garnered more than 500,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, 1.6m followers on his Instagram account and more than two million followers on TikTok with his streamed gaming.
What happened to Sketch?
Sketch was outed by a fellow YouTuber who posted screenshots of the OnlyFans content in a video entitled “The Real Sketch: The Untold Story of Jamie Mar” on Sunday.
Jamie Mar was reported to be one of the names Sketch used to post his OnlyFans content.
Leaking the content, the YouTuber said they understood it was “a very serious claim, that again, can have very huge implications on his future” but was “not a career ender”.
However, they later added a statement to their YouTube account which read: “Sketch, I’m truly sorry.
“I shared our story too quickly.
“I didn’t prepare you, and people weren’t kind.
“I apologise for putting you in this position.
“I’m thankful you’re still with us.”
How has Sketch responded?
On Monday, Sketch hosted a livestream on Twitch in which he confirmed the OnlyFans content was him and apologised.
He said: “Two years ago, I did some stuff.
“I’m sorry if you’ve seen some of the stuff.
“You know, I’m a changed person.”
Making a joking reference to former US President Bill Clinton, he added: “So, two years ago, I did not have sexual relations with that man!
“I’m just kidding. I did. Possibly. It’s OK.”
The Streamer said he had been going through a “dark time” and dealing with “some addiction problems” when he made the videos but he wouldn’t do it again.
He thanked his parents and friends who “saved me” after the leaked content went viral adding he “probably wouldn’t be talking to you right now” without their support.
How have other streamers responded?
After the content was shared on social media, fellow streamers and NFL players were quick to defend Sketch.
FazeBanks, FaZe Clan online gaming organisation CEO, posted on X a text conversation he had had with Sketch after the leak, showing his support.
The post read: “Not everything needs to be broadcast & farmed, but since yall wana jump to crazy assumptions Sketch told me to post these receipts.
“All the FaZe boys were with him last night.
“Sketch was my homie yesterday, he’s my homie today, he’ll be my homie tomorrow.”
While New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner wrote: “Sketch handled the situation better than a lot of people would’ve.
“The same ones that loved him before all of this will love him after and if they don’t then they didn’t really love him to begin with.
“People go through tough times and it promotes growth.
“I stand with him.”
