Skylar Mae says she makes more than $1 million a month on OnlyFans, but she isn’t looking for a partner who can match that. According to OK!‘s Olivia Salamone, the creator says she’d happily date a man earning just $30,000 a year, as long as he’s ambitious and smart with his money.

Drive over dollars

“I would 100% date someone who earns significantly less than me,” Mae told OK!. “They just need to be ambitious, working towards a goal, and have a good career.”

She told both OK! and Where Is The Buzz‘s David J that the number on a paycheck matters less to her than what someone does with it. “I just hope they’re a good person and they’re smart with their money,” she told OK!. “Are you investing? Do you have a savings account? That stuff is more important to me than honestly anyone’s tax bracket.”

“It’s very important that they have their own goals and ambitions, even if they don’t make nearly as much as I do. They could be making $30,000 a year,” she added.

Not intimidated, she says

Asked whether her earnings make dating harder, Mae answered, “Yes and no.” She said she doesn’t factor money into who she’s looking for, and hopes a partner wouldn’t judge her by “How much money do you make in a month?”

She also said no man has told her he felt intimidated by her success. “I feel like the type of men that I go for in general wouldn’t be insecure,” she said. “I’m very headstrong, I’m a bull, I’m a Taurus. If someone was insecure about that, then they’re probably not my person.”

She’d cover the bills, with one condition

Mae said she wouldn’t rule out supporting a boyfriend financially. “I don’t mind doing that, but they do need to have a job or just something that gets them out of bed every day,” she said. “They need to have goals.”

According to Where Is The Buzz, she said small gestures win her over more than fancy dates. “Fun is number one,” she said, adding that “helping out where it’s needed, even if it’s just taking out the trash or helping me clean up at the end of the day, impresses me more than money.” She also pointed to where she started: “I came from literally nothing, so I know what that’s like.”

Money talk is nothing new for her

Mae’s focus on saving and investing isn’t a new angle. Back in 2025, The Village Voice‘s Daniela LaFave profiled her side passion for trading, which she said began after an OnlyFans tax bill sent her to her grandfather, a lifelong day trader. She told the outlet that “ninety-five percent of the girls I meet in this industry just let their money sit in a bank account,” and that she urges them to put five or ten percent of their money into a dividend stock or hand it to a broker for “the top 500.”

The takeaway

Mae’s earnings are self-reported, but her message is one a lot of creators will recognize: big money can disappear fast if you don’t plan for it. Her dating checklist reads a lot like her business advice. Have goals, save something, invest something, and don’t let anyone’s bank balance, high or low, decide who they are.
